What is Polypropylene Compound?

Polypropylene compound is a thermoplastic material created through the polymerization process, featuring hard and crystalline particles. This compound has three other types: isotactic iPP, syndiotactic sPP, and atactic aPP. Like polyethylene compound, this material is also used in various industries and shares similar properties with polyethylene, such as: physical resistance, thermal insulation, cost-effectiveness, and its unique feature of exceptional flexibility.

Properties of Polypropylene Compound

Flexibility: Given the family of polypropylene materials and its molecular chain, due to its high melting point and long polymer chains, this compound also possesses elastic and high flexibility properties.

Thermal resistance: This material has a higher thermal resistance than polyethylene and, with increased impact resistance, strengthens the surface of plastic products. Here we have explained about thermal-resistant masterbatch.

Physical resistance: The presence of reinforcers like glass fibers increases the mechanical strength of this material.

Lightweight: Polypropylene has a lower weight compared to its volume in high tonnages, which greatly facilitates transportation.

Applications of PP Compound

Automotive industry: This compound is used in the production of dashboards, internal and external car parts for physical strength and stability.

Household appliance production: Polypropylene is used for durability and in the construction of lightweight components of household appliances such as refrigerators and washing machines.

Packaging: Due to its high flexibility and stretch-ability, polypropylene is a suitable option for producing food and industrial packaging containers.

Pipe and fittings industry: Used in piping systems to produce a highly durable product.
