Seed Packaging EN

Seed Packaging

Seeds are the most sensitive agricultural products; they are affected by moisture, fungi, oxygen, intense light, and mechanical damage. When the packaging is inadequate, moisture can cause germination inside the package or spoil the seeds, oxygen and light can reduce quality and germination ability, and during transportation, movement, pressure, and abrasion may lead to cracks in the coating or scattering of seeds. Also, the production of dust (fine particles) and static electricity of seeds during filling the packages can cause sealing defects or leakage. Furthermore, many multi-layer plastic composites are difficult to recycle to provide the necessary protective properties and have a high environmental cost.

SupraPol Solution

We propose using specially designed polyethylene or multi-layer packaging films for seeds that combine resistance, adequate barriers, and protective properties. This film is designed to repel moisture while allowing controlled respiration. By adding oxygen barrier layers and light-blocking coatings, we reduce the negative effects of oxygen and sunlight. In the production process, reinforced seam and joint designs offer solutions to reduce the likelihood of leakage or mechanical damage. Our film is also developed with biodegradable or recyclable properties to minimize the environmental impact of packaging.

Features

Moisture-repelling and water absorption control: The outer layer of the film should prevent the penetration of environmental moisture, while the inner coating allows excess vapor to escape so that the seeds do not experience internal moisture or mildew.

Oxygen barrier and protection against light: The film has layers that block the passage of oxygen and intense light to reduce oxidation and damage to seeds while preserving germination capacity.

High mechanical resistance and flexibility: The film must resist stretching, abrasion, pressure, and impact to maintain its structure during transportation and handling without failure.

Strong, leak-proof seal: The design of seams and connection points is such that the seals are robust, preventing any leakage; reinforced threads or special heat seals are used for this purpose.

Printability and product information specifications: The surface of the film is suitable for high-resolution printing, allowing for the inclusion of seed names, production dates, technical information, serial codes, or planting guidelines.
